Cold Cash 123 Runs Win Streak to Three in All American Derby Trials

T Bill Stables Inc.'s Cold Cash 123 on Friday won the sixth of nine All American Derby (G1) trials at Ruidoso Downs, posting the fastest qualifying time to the September 4 final.

Ridden by Roy Baldillez for trainer C. Dwayne “Sleepy” Gilbreath, Cold Cash 123 went 440 yards in :20.833 while earning a 105 speed index and his third consecutive victory. The bay gelding was sent to post as the 7-10 favorite, and his winning margin was a half of a length from second-fastest qualifier DM Streakn Thru Fire.

Cold Cash 123 was bred in Michigan by T Bill Stables Inc., and the gelding has earned $615,346, and his six wins in 10 starts include the 440-yard, $899,524 Rainbow Derby (G1) on July 23, and last year's $200,000 Southwest Juvenile Championship (G1) at Zia Park.

This year's All American Derby will be carry a purse of $1,316,760, with $658,380 going to the owner of the winner. Also, the winner will earn a berth in this year's Grade 1, 440-yard Champion of Champions at Los Alamitos.
