Field of Nine Set for Sunday’s Jack Cole Handicap

Lesters Secret has been assigned the high weight of 123 pounds for Sunday’s one-mile, $100,000 Jack Cole Handicap (R) for New Mexico-breds at SunRay Park.

A 4-year-old Lesters Boy gelding racing for Simply The Best Thoroughbreds of Temecula, California, and trainer Henry Dominguez, Lesters Secret is coming off of a victory in the one-mile, $125,000 New Mexico State University Handicap (R) at Sunland Park on March 21. All told, Lesters Secret has earned $352,564 from six wins in 18 starts.

Enchanted Outlaw will tote 122 pounds in the Jack Cole. Racing for Ted Rushing and Lee Lewis and trained by Todd Fincher, the 5-year-old gelding by Prospector Jones put together a recent four-race win streak that included a 4 ½-length victory in the 1 1/16-mile Albert Dominguez Memorial Handicap (R) at Sunland on January 10.

A one-time $5,000 claimer, Enchanted Outlaw has won eight of 18 races and has banked $257,103.

The complete lineup for the Jack Cole, in post position order including jockey and weight assignments – Enchanted Outlaw (Juan Ochoa, 122), Tricky Odds (Perry Whetstone, 119), Fullofenergy (Carlos Madeira, 121), Ocean Joe (J. Martin Bourdieu, 116), Lesters Secret (Ken Tohill, 123), Outofecho (Miguel Hernandez, 115), Mr. Windsor (Rodrigo Jaime, 120), Brax (Casey Lambert, 117), and Some Ghost (Catalino Martinez, 118).
