RSS Feeds Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Hennessy Road, a homebred daughter of Roll Hennessy Roll racing for W. Davis and Lisa Moore, is one of 10 finalists in the fillies division of this year's $75,000-added Copper Top Futurity (R) for New Mexico-breds.

Saddled by Todd Fincher and ridden by Casey Lambert, Hennessy Road on Tuesday won the first of two trials by two lengths as the 9-10 favorite. The chestnut filly was coming off of a third-place finish in her career debut on March 3.

Hennessy Road's half sister, the Avenue Of Flags filly Marquee Avenue, ran second to Explosive Mine in the 2009 Copper Top Futurity.

Two other qualifiers, Quinn and Kim Jones' Star Of Wonder and Bowers and Seago Racing's Park Lane Lass, finished in a dead heat for the win in the second Copper Top trial.
