RSS Feeds Monday, May 02, 2011
Bielau Oaks' Full Moon Dasher led at every call en route to a head victory in Sunday's $85,000 Four Corners Senora Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred fillies and mares at SunRay Park.

Trained by John Stinebaugh and ridden by Joe Martinez, Full Moon Dasher covered 400 yards in :19.267 while scoring her fourth win in 12 starts and third consecutive victory. The $51,000 winner's share of the purse increased her earnings to $118,401.

Full Moon Dasher was bred by Dosi and Norma Alvarez of La Union, New Mexico. The 4-year-old mare's sire, Dash Ta Fame, is a 22-year-old stallion by all-time leading sire First Down Dash who won three stakes from 1991-92, including the 1991 Golden State Futurity (G1) and '92 El Primero del Ano Derby (G1).

Dash Ta Fame has sired the earners of more than $16 million, including 2006 Zia Futurity (RG1) winner and All American Futurity (G1) runner-up Gun Battle, and Grade 1 winner and one-time 440-yard world-record holder Kendall Jackson. The stallion is owned by Bob and Darian Burt, and he stands for a $6,500 fee at Smart Ranches at Temecula, California.

Full Moon Dasher is also a half sister to First Moonflash, the AQHA champion aged stallion in 2009.

Full Moon Dasher's Four Corners Senora victory marked her first stakes win. The mare's win streak includes two 330-yard allowance victories at Sunland Park.

Little Bit Southern, 3-5 favorite Jenuine Joy, Posies Woodette, My Box Of Chocolate, Blushing Cartel, and Snow Regard completed the order of finish.

Little Bit Southern is a bay 4-year-old daughter of Southern Corona racing for Edilberto Estrada from the barn of Jose R. Gonzalez Sr. Little Bit Southern has won three of 19 starts, including two of four since she was claimed by Estrada for $6,250 on December 23, and she has banked $86,610.

A 5-year-old gray mare by Grade 1 winner Genuine Strawfly, Jenuine Joy won last year's Four Corners Senora Stakes for her owner Fredda Draper of Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. The homebred mare has earned $247,900 from six wins in nine outs, and her three career stakes scores include the March 13, 350-yard Mesilla Valley Speed Handicap (RG2) and the December 19, 400-yard Lou Wooten Handicap (RG1) at Sunland Park.
