Fysta Posts Fastest NM State Fair Senorita Futurity Qualifying Time

Fysta, a gray daughter of Gonna Ro Sham Bo racing for David Hinkins and Ross Hinkins, broke her maiden in the first of three New Mexico State Fair Senorita Futurity (RG3) trials at The Downs at Albuquerque on Friday, and the filly is the fastest qualifier to the $50,000-added final on September 24.

Trained by Wes Giles and ridden by Tony Guymon, Fysta went 400 yards in :19.570 while defeating third-fastest qualifier Reason To Be A Chick by three-quarters of a length. The filly has earned $16,348 from six starts.

Second-fastest qualifier Sparklin Royal won the second trial by three-quarters of a length as the 7-10 favorite. A homebred daughter of Sixes Royal, Sparklin Royal races for Gary C. Kloppenburg.
