RSS Feeds Sunday, June 4, 2017
A field of nine New Mexico-bred 3-year-olds, headed by morning-line favorite Go For A Stroll, has been entered in Monday’s 6 1/2-furlong, $40,000 Dine Stakes (R) at SunRay Park.

A homebred son of Attila’s Storm trained by Todd Fincher for owner R.D. Hubbard, Go For A Stroll will be shortening in distance off of his come-from-behind neck victory in the 1 1/16-mile, $100,000 New Mexico Breeders’ Derby (R) at Sunland Park on March 26. The gelding has won two of five starts and has earned $104,418.

Go For A Stroll will be ridden by Tracy Hebert from the rail post. The gelding’s eight opponents include Champion Racing Stable’s He’s Another Who and Thunder Dome, a stakes-winning Dome gelding owned by W.D. Carson Sr., M.H. Carson, and Leach Racing Stables.

He’s Another Who is a chestnut son of Quinton’s Gold trained by Casey Lambert. The gelding is coming off of a third-place finish, 4 1/2 lengths behind Go For A Stroll, in the New Mexico Breeders’ Derby, and he opened his sophomore campaign with a 1 1/4-length victory on a sealed track labeled “slow” in the 6-furlong, $85,000 Four Rivers John Deere Stakes (R) at Sunland Park on New Year’s Day.

He’s Another Who drew post 8 and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.

Thunder Dome will be making his season debut from post 2 and will be ridden by Ricardo Jaime in the Dine. Trained by Dallas Barton, the gelding is coming off of a 2-year-old campaign during which he won two of seven starts, including the 5 1/2-furlong, $153,000 Rio Grande Senor Futurity (R) at Ruidoso Downs on September 5, and earned $135,883.

C K Charlie (Duane Sterling), 15-1
Que Pasa (Enrique Gomez), 10-1
