A & C Racing and Roping’s Winners Version, the winner of last year’s $147,927 Hobbs America Derby (G2) at Zia Park, will stand the 2011 season at Mac Murray and Janis Spencer Murray’s MJ Farms near Veguita, New Mexico.
Bred in Texas by Jerry Windham, Winners Version earned $399,057 from five wins in 17 starts. The 4-year-old stallion by Holland Ease was a finalist in five Grade 1 futurities in 2008, and he was the only horse to qualify for all three of Ruidoso Downs’ Grade 1 futurities, including the $1.9-million All American Futurity.
Winners Version is one of seven winners from eight starters produced by The Jubilee Diamond, a winning daughter of the Beduino (TB) stallion Runaway Winner. The stallion’s full brother, stakes winner Latest Version, ran second in the 2005 Los Alamitos Invitational Championship (G1) and third in that season’s Vessels Maturity (G1).
Winners Version is also a full brother to the late Texas Version, a gelding who won last year’s La Plata Stakes (G3) at SunRay Park, and Easee Version, a finalist in last season’s Sunland Park Winter (G2) and Hobbs America (G3) futurities.
Winners Version’s second dam, the Timeto Thinkrich mare Denim N Diamonds, was the AQHA champion aged horse in 1981 and champion aged mare the following season. A 1977 foal, Denim N Diamonds has foaled 10 starters, including 1991 Rainbow Silver Cup (G1) winner Star Of Sierra Leone.
Winners Version will stand for a fee of $2,000, or $1.500 if booked by February 15. For more information, contact MJ Farms at (505) 864-1152.
