RSS Feeds Sunday, July 15, 2012
K.B.'s Princess and Lakehouse Fun, the respective winner and runner-up of the June 16 C.O. “Ken” Kendrick Memorial Stakes (R) at SunRay Park, lead the list of qualifiers to this year's $159,744 Rio Grande Senorita Futurity (R) for New Mexico-bred 2-year-old fillies at Ruidoso Downs.

Lakehouse Fun was a prompt even-money favorite in the second of four 5 1/2-furlong trials on Saturday. A homebred filly by Roll Hennessy Roll racing for J. Kirk and Judy Robison of El Paso, Texas, and trained by Henry Dominguez, Lakehouse Fun has won two of three starts and has earned $20,700.

Sent to post as the 4-5 choice in the third trial, K.B.'s Princess finished second, a neck behind winner Back Seat Roll. The bay daughter of the Holy Bull stallion King Bull has banked $45,770 from two outs for her owner, Gary L. Balzano.

The Rio Grande Senorita Futurity will be one of 11 New Mexico-bred stakes contested on Zia Festival Day, July 29. The complete list of qualifiers appears in alphabetical order below:
