RSS Feeds Monday, May 15, 2017
A field of six New Mexico-bred 2-year-olds, topped by morning-line favorite Ghost Of Creebar, has been entered in Monday’s 4 1/2-furlong, $45,000 C.O. “Ken” Kendrick Memorial Stakes (R) at SunRay Park.

A daughter of Dome trained by Larry Chavez for owner Mike G. Parker, Ghost Of Creebar is the lone entry with at least one previous start. The filly ran fourth in both of her starts, both at Sunland Park, including a 4 1/2-furlong Copper Top Futurity (R) trial on March 25.

Ghost Of Creebar is the first starter produced by Garretsghostlygirl, an 8-year-old daughter of Ghostly Moves who won the $110,000 La Senora Stakes (R) at Sunland Park in 2012. The filly drew post 2 and will be ridden by Kelsi Purcell.

Other contenders include Orogrande, a first-timer starter trained by Dallas Barton for owners W.D. Carson Sr., M.H. Carson, and Leach Racing. A homebred chestnut daughter of Quinton’s Gold, the filly is a full sister to four-time stakes winner Lady Genius, and a half sister to multiple stakes winners Mr. Wizard, Beau Wizer, and Double Smart.

Orogrande drew post 4 and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.

Oh So Attractive, a homebred Roman Emperor filly campaigned by Dr. Miguel Gallegos’ Gallegos del Norte Racing of Albuquerque, drew the rail post and will be ridden by Alfredo Sigala for trainer Jose R. Gonzalez Jr. Oh So Attractive is a full sister to Roll So Gold, the runner-up in the 2013 Dessie and Fern Sawyer Futurity (R) at Albuquerque Downs.

The Kendrick Memorial is the fifth race on SunRay Park’s nine-race program. Estimated post time for the stakes is set for 4:36 p.m. (MDT). The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
Oh So Attractive (Alfredo Sigala), 7-2
Ghost Of Creebar (Kelsi Purcell), 2-1
Avenue Of Fire (Ameth Gonzalez), 4-1
Orogrande (Alfredo Juarez Jr.), 7-2
Comics Cashway (Tracy Hebert), 8-1
Hot Trick (Alejandro Medellin), 3-1
