RSS Feeds Saturday, June 09, 2012

Kiss My Hennessy, a stakes-winning gelding by Roll Hennessy Roll racing for Scott Bryant and Joe Dee Brooks, is one of 10 finalists in this year's 5 furlong, $134,657 Mountain Top Thoroughbred Futurity (R) for New Mexico-bred 2-year-olds at Ruidoso Downs.

Sent to post as the 2-5 favorite in the first of three trials on Friday, Kiss My Hennessy finished second, 5 ¼ lengths behind first-time starter Roll D' Nile to secure a spot in the June 23 final. The gelding was making his first start since April 14, when he scored a 1 1/2-length victory in the colts and geldings division of the Copper Top Futurity (R) at Sunland Park.

Another qualifier, Indication N M, was a prompt 6-5 favorite in the third trial. The chestnut gelding by Attila's Storm has won three of four races and has earned $25,515 for his owners, Robert F. Haynsworth and J & SM Inc.
