Lady Genius Remains Unbeaten, Makes Rio Grande Senorita Futurity Final
RSS Feeds Sunday, July 14, 2013
Lady Genius was a prompt odds-on favorite in the second of four Rio Grande Senorita Futurity (R) trials at Ruidoso Downs on Saturday.

Saddled by Dallas Barton and ridden by Carlos Madeira for owners W.D. Carson Sr., M.H. Carson and Leach Racing LLC, Lady Genius covered 5 ½ furlongs in 1:04.63, and her margin of victory was 6 ½ lengths from Zesty Salsa. The homebred chestnut daughter of Quinton's Gold was coming off of a 1 1/4-length win as the 2-5 choice in the June 8, 4 1/2-furlong C.O. “Ken” Kendrick Memorial Stakes (R) at SunRay Park.

Lady Genius has won all four of her outs and has earned $91,895. The filly's stakes resume includes an 8 3/4-length victory in the fillies' division of the 4 1/2-furlong, $88,389 Copper Top Futurity (R) at Sunland Park.
