Llano Teller, Quiet Again are Horses of Meet at Ruidoso

Llano Teller and Quiet Again have been named horses of the meet at Ruidoso Downs, which ended its 60-day meet on Monday.

Llano Teller was named the meet's top Quarter Horse, as the 3-year-old Teller Cartel gelding won five of his six starts at Ruidoso, including the September 4, $1.3-million All American Derby (G1), and the June 11, $702,896 Ruidoso Derby (G1). Llano Teller earned $1,043,244 during the meet for his owners, Wootan Racing and Reed Land & Cattle.

Llano Teller was also the meet's top 3-year-old Quarter Horse.

Quiet Again, a homebred 6-year-old gelding by Real Quiet racing for Paul Bruce Thomason, was Ruidoso's top Thoroughbred. Quiet Again won the 6-furlong, $40,000 Free Spirit Handicap at Ruidoso on June 4, and he ended his Ruidoso campaign with a second-place finish as the 7-10 favorite in the 1 1/16-mile, $50,000 Ruidoso Thoroughbred Championship on closing day.

Quiet Again was also the meet's top older Thoroughbred.

Other Ruidoso season honors went to All American Futurity (G1) winner Ochoa (top 2-year-old Quarter Horse), Noconi (older Quarter Horse), Wally Van (3-year-old Thoroughbred), Our Flying Angel (2-year-old Thoroughbred and 2-year-old New Mexico-bred), Mostly Dust (3-year-old New Mexico-bred), and Lota Talent (New Mexico-bred older Thoroughbred).
