A pair of registered New Mexico-bred geldings – First Corona Call and Rabbit Revival – have made the final of this year's 400-yard, $95,400 West Texas Maturity (G2) at Sunland Park.

Racing for Richard R. Shearer of Portales, New Mexico, and trained by Trey Wood, First Corona Call finished fourth, three-quarters of a length behind winner Really A Fantasy, in the first of three trials on Friday. Under jockey Ricky Ramirez, the homebred 6-year-old son of Southern Corona covered 400 yards in :19.580 and posted the ninth-fastest qualifying time.

Rabbit Revival ran second, three-quarters of a length behind Jess Cuervo, in the second heat. A 7-year-old gelding by Rabbits Rainbow owned by Linnette Sanchez and trained by Alfredo Sanchez, Rabbit Revival stopped the timer in :19.604 under jockey Adrian Ramos for the 10th-fastest trial time.

Fastest qualifier Jump Down Azoom won the third trial by a half of a length from favorite Tres Seis Nueve. The Texas-bred 4-year-old Azoom gelding has won both of his starts at Sunland Park this season for his owner, Crowson Racing.
