Rising Giant, a two-turn stakes winner during the 2015-16 Sunland Park meet, will make his next start in Monday’s 1-mile, $40,000 Jack Cole Stakes (R) for New Mexico-breds at SunRay Park.

A 5-year-old gelding by The Way Home racing for Tom and Sandy McKenna’s Judge Lanier Racing and trained by Dan Dennison, Rising Giant began his 2016 season with a half-length victory in the 1 1/16-mile, $85,000 Albert Dominguez Memorial Handicap (R) at Sunland Park on January 16. Rising Giant has won nine of his 34 outs and has banked $169,348.

Rising Giant drew post 7 and will be ridden by Glen Murphy.

Atillas Gift, a 4-year-old son of Attila’s Storm and a $27,000 buy at the 2013 New Mexico-Bred Yearling Sale at Ruidoso Downs, drew post 2 and will be ridden by Norberto Arroyo Jr. The 3-1 morning-line favorite, the gelding is trained by Todd Fincher for owners Scott Bryant and Joe Dee Brooks.

Citizen Geller will be stretching out in distance off of a Sunland Park season during which he rallied to score a 1 3/4-length victory in the 4 1/2-furlong, $85,000 Mt. Cristo Rey Stakes (R) on March 1. The homebred 4-year-old son of Pro Prado is trained by Eric Mikkelson for Larry and Denise Nichols’ UKUSA Stables.

Citizen Geller drew the rail post and will be ridden by Alfredo Juarez Jr.
