Ruidoso Select Sale Consignments Include 21 New Mexico-Bred Yearlings
RSS Feeds Thursday, August 30, 2012
A total of 21 accredited New Mexico-bred Quarter Horse yearlings have been consigned to the Ruidoso Select Yearling and Broodmare Sale, to be held August 31-September 2 at the Ruidoso Downs Horse Sale Pavilion.

Three of the yearlings – Lafiera, Jolivet, and White Wine Glass, all of whom were consigned to the sale by MJ Farms of Veguita – have connections to 2009 AQHA champion 3-year-old filly Alice K White. A sorrel daughter of Jesse James Jr and the graded stakes winning Lanes Leinster mare Champagne Lane, Lafiera is a half sister to Alice K White and Kendall Jackson, a Grade 1 winner and one-time 440-yard world record holder.

Jolivet, a filly by Jesse James Jr, and White Wine Glass, a filly by the Swiss Yodeler (TB) stallion Swissle Stick (TB), are both among the first foals produced by Alice K White. A 6-year-old daughter of First Down Dash, Alice K White won two graded stakes at Los Alamitos during her championship season, including the Grade 1, $250,000 Golden State Derby.

Other prominent New Mexico-bred yearlings include Moonifisant, a colt by Sixes Royal consigned by Lazy A Farm of Anthony and a half brother to 2009 AQHA champion aged stallion First Moonflash and Grade 2 winner Dash Ta Moon; and Will Flash Me, a First Moonflash colt consigned by Double LL Farm of Bosque Farms and a half brother to New Mexico-bred graded stakes winners Call Me A Blazn Chic and Makin Willies.

There are eight New Mexico-based broodmares consigned to the sale, which begins after the last race of the day at Ruidoso Downs Racetrack on Friday. For more information, visit the Ruidoso Select Yearling and Broodmare Sale website at www.ruidososelectyearlingsale.com, or call (575) 378-4474.
