Sandys Jesse is Morning-Line Choice in Four Corners Senora
RSS Feeds Friday, April 26, 2013
Sandys Jesse, a 3-year-old filly by Jesse James Jr racing for Chin S. Lee, is the 3-1 morning-line favorite for Sunday's 400-yard, $65,000 Four Corners Senora Futurity (RG3) for New Mexico-bred distaffers at SunRay Park.

Trained by Alonso Orozco, Sandys Jesse is coming off of a Sunland Park campaign in which she won a pair of state-bred 3-year-old stakes – the 400-yard, $85,000 New Mexico Horse Breeders' Association Stakes (RG2) in February, and the 350-yard, $85,000 Sunburst Stakes (R) for sophomore fillies on April 13.

One of only two 3-year-olds in the field of 8, Sandys Jesse has earned $157,115 from 11 starts. Tanner Thedford will ride the filly from post 5 on Sunday.

Another Four Corners Senora contender, WDC Wendys Wine, will be shortening in distance and dropping in class off of her third-place finish in the 440-yard, $100,000 Bank of America Sunland Challenge (G2) on April 7. The 4-year-old daughter of Woodbridge is trained by Isidro Rodriguez.

The Four Corners Senora Futurity will be the fourth race on SunRay Park's nine-race program. Approximate post time for the race is 2:07 p.m. (MDT).

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey and weight assignments and morning-line odds – Smafricate (L. Alfonso Perez, 122), 8-1; Sparklin Royal (Larry Gamez, 124), 5-1; Desert Delight Cash (Jaime Leos, 124), 6-1; Maggie Get Down (Macario Rodriguez, 124), 7-1; Sandys Jesse (Tanner Thedford, 122), 3-1; Gonna Dash (Efrain Vigi, 124), 10-1; Incoho Tes (Manuel Gutierrez, 124), 9-2; and WDC Wendys Wine (Salvador Martinez, 124), 4-1.

The Four Corners Senora Futurity began its short history in 2009, when Mike Abraham's Blazin N Shakin earned the winner's share of an $81,378 purse. Bielau Oaks' Full Moon Dasher holds the 400-yard stakes record of :1926, which she set two years ago.
