RSS Feeds Friday, January 15, 2016
Fastest qualifier Sic Em Sixes is the 7-5 morning-line favorite for Sunday’s 400-yard, $190,095 Shue Fly Stakes (RG2) for New Mexico-bred 3-year-olds at Sunland Park.

A gray son of the Royal Quick Dash stallion Sixes Royal, Sic Em Sixes is trained by Juan M. Gonzalez for owners J. Patricia Gonzalez, Peter Gallegos, and Sam Tanner. The gelding has won three consecutive races, and he is coming off of a 3 1/2-length victory in the second of four Shue Fly trials on December 28.

Sic Em Sixes has won four of nine races and has banked $40,035, and his resume includes a second-place finish to Wood Be Charming in the July 25, 400-yard By By JJ Stakes (R) at Ruidoso Downs. The gelding drew post 4 and will be ridden by Adrian Ramos.

Gonzalez will also send out the second-fastest qualifier, First Zoomflash. A sorrel gelding by champion First Moonflash racing for Valle Guadiana Corporation, First Zoomflash broke his maiden with a half-length victory at odds of 28-1 in the fourth Shue Fly trial.

Raul Herrera will ride First Zoomflash from post 5.

Other contenders include Jose Luis Ozuna’s Flash Of Love, a First Moonflash gelding trained by Paul Jones. Flash Of Love has earned $150,402 from seven outs, and his three wins include the 350-yard, $350,000 Mountain Top Futurity (RG3) for state-bred 2-year-olds at Ruidoso Downs in June.

The Shue Fly Stakes will be the featured fourth race on Sunland Park’s nine-race program. Estimated post time for the Shue Fly is 2 p.m. (MST).

The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds -- Frank N Jesse (Bonifacio Perez), 8-1; Carson City Girl (Larry Gamez), 8-1; My Mojito (Esgar Ramirez), 10-1; Sic Em Sixes (Adrian Ramos), 7-5; First Zoomflash (Raul Herrera), 6-1; Rocky El Roble (Ivan Carnero), 10-1; Flash Of Love (Salvador Martinez), 5-1; Major Bites (Oscar Cordova), 12-1; To Fast To Furious (Jose Enrique Ortiz), 15-1; and Flash Theory (Hector Aldrete), 15-1.
