RSS Feeds Saturday, June 08, 2013
Vernissage, a homebred gelding by the Golden Missile stallion Going Wild campaigned by Gary L. Thompson, made the June 22, $167,000 Mountain Top Thoroughbred Futurity (R) for New Mexico-bred 2-year-olds at Ruidoso Downs.

Saddled by Bart Hone and ridden by Miguel Hernandez, Vernissage ran second, three-quarters of a length behind Reaper, in the first of three trials on Friday. The gelding was making his first start since April 13, when he ran second, when he ran second to Dandy Don Who in the colts and geldings division of the 4 1/2-furlong, $95,126 Copper Top Futurity (R) at Sunland Park.

Joel Barchardt's Unsociable Major won the third trial by three-quarters of a length in 1:00.66, the fastest winning time of the three heats. The Your Eminence gelding is the first starter produced by his dam, the unraced 7-year-old To Teras mare Gray Teras Lady.
