Two New Mexico-bred stakes -- one for Thoroughbreds and one for Quarter Horses -- will top the 11-race program at Sunland Park on Sunday.

Both of the stakes drew overflow fields of 12, including two also-eligible entries.

WDC Wendys Wine, a 4-year-old mare by the Dash Ta Fame stallion Woodbridge, is the 7-2 morning-line favorite in the 400-yard, $85,000 Lou Wooten/Sydney Valentini Stakes (RG1) for state-bred distaffers. Racing for Sylvia Aranda and trainer Alonzo Aranda, WDC Wendys Wine is coming off of a third-place finish as the 5-2 choice in the 400-yard, $140,000 New Mexico Fillies & Mares Championship (RG1) at Zia Park on November 27.

WDC Wendys Wine has earned $128,888 from 19 starts, and the mare’s stakes record includes a second-place finish to Send Me A Candy Tree in the 400-yard, $55,000 Lubbock Stakes (G3) at Zia Park on September 28.

Alejandro Medellin will ride WDC Wendys Wine from post 6 on Sunday.

Other contenders include Runin Sixes, a 3-year-old filly by Sixes Royal owned by Peter B. Gallegos, Valle Guadiana Corp., and Patricia Gonzalez. Runin Sixes ran second, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Jess Rueben James, in the October 27, $199,000 New Mexico Cup Derby (RG2) at Zia Park.
