RSS Feeds Sunday, October 30, 2011
Trainers Todd Fincher and Joel Marr each saddled the winners of three Thoroughbred races during Sunday's 11-race New Mexico Cup Day program at Zia Park.

Marr started his parade of winners when That's Who, a homebred Quinton's Gold gelding owned by Sam and Latane Stevens of La Mesa, Texas, won the New Mexico Cup Juvenile Colt & Gelding Stakes (R).

Marr also sent out Desert Hennessy to win the New Mexico Cup Colt & Gelding Stakes (R) and Cross Chris Run to win the richest Thoroughbred race of the day, the $180,720 Rocky Gulch New Mexico Cup Championship (R), both for owner Cleber J. Massey.

Fincher's first victory of the day came with Helen Nave's Comicsperfectstorm, a homebred daughter of Comic Genius who extended her win streak to five in the New Mexico Cup Filly Stakes (R).

Later on the card, Fincher won the New Mexico Cup Sprint Stakes (R) with the West Texas Racing Partners' Chuchuluco, and the Peppers Pride New Mexico Cup Filly & Mare Championship (R) with Joe Peacock's Rose's Desert.
