RSS Feeds Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Whisper's Sister, the winner of the $110,000 Enchantress Stakes (R) on December 18, will make her 3-year-old debut in Saturday's 6-furlong, $110,000 La Senora Stakes (R) for New Mexico-bred sophomore fillies at Sunland Park.

A gray or roan filly by Ghostly Moves racing for Joe P. Milam and trained by Paul Smith, Whisper's Sister rallied to win the one-mile Enchantress by a half of a length at odds of 19-1. Whisper's Sister has won two of nine races and has earned $78,479.

Whisper's Sister will break from the rail post under jockey Kelsi Purcell, who rode the filly in the Enchantress.

Other La Senora contenders include Enchantress runner-up Quinton's Doll Who. The chestnut filly by Quinton's Gold has banked $59,439 from six outs for her owners, S.E. Stevens, Sammy Stevens, and Kenneth Thomas.

Quinton's Doll Who is one of three La Senora entries trained by Joel Marr. One of Marr's other entries, Sam E. Stevens' Easy Loving Who, is coming off of a four-length victory as the 2-5 favorite in a 6-furlong non-winners-of-two allowance race for state-bred fillies at Sunland Park on New Year's Day.
